ErgoPad system:s

The modular foot orthosis

Around 65 to 75 percent of the adult population suffer from foot deformities and complaints. With ErgoPad systems an orthopedic orthosis can be assembled that is perfectly fitted to the indication. This is because the soft foam foot orthosis offers a special base layer for all common foot misalignments, and this can be combined with top layer variants in different materials, thicknesses and shapes. Depending upon the severity of the indication, the orthopedic orthoses stabilize the longitudinal arch, correct the position of the ankle complex and reduce forefoot pain.

  • Variable construction depending upon indication
  • The configurator makes the selection of the base and top layers easy
  • Suitable for normal and comfort shoes

Indication-dependent use

The most common foot misalignments include the various degrees of (valgus) splayfoot and hollow foot. They form the basis for the construction of the ErgoPad system:s. Depending upon indication, the orthotist can choose between five short-sole and five long-sole base layers. The top layer variants (cushion layers and covers) are divided into Basic, Standard and Pro so that these can be selected on the basis of the patient’s requirements. The patient thus gets an orthopedic orthosis that is precisely matched to his symptoms.

Designs and uses/indications

ErgoPad system:s are modular orthoses oriented towards the five most common foot deformities. They can be worn in normal and comfort shoes with removable inlays of at least 5 mm in thickness.

Technical details

Special features of the ergopad system:s

  • Indication-dependent soft foam foot orthosis in a sandwich construction (bonded and non-bonded variants)
  • Physiologically safe materials
  • Adequate orthopedic support for the foot arches

Uses/indications

  • Suitable for people with the typical degrees of skew foot, flat foot, splayfoot or hollow foot

Serviceable life

  • Load- and indication-dependent serviceable life
  • We recommend that the functional properties be checked regularly

Cleaning instructions

  • Top covers and foot orthosis surfaces should, if necessary, be wiped with a mild detergent/disinfectant (except for leather covers).
  • Not machine-washable
  • Do not expose to direct heat (heater, direct sunlight)
  • Allow to air dry

Medical details

Main indications

  • Mild splayfoot
  • Mild flat foot
  • Pronounced (valgus) splayfoot
  • Pronounced (valgus) splayfoot with heel pain
  • Mild/moderate hollow foot

Concomitant indications

  • Achilles tendon complaints
  • Knee/back pain

Mode of action

Depending upon the severity of the foot deformity, the thermal reinforcement in the base layers stabilizes the longitudinal arch and provides comfortable support. In addition, the slight to more pronounced heel cup and the instep support correct the position of the ankle complex. The anatomically shaped transverse arch pad counteracts increased forefoot pain.
